Tarka is a combination medicine that contains two active ingredients: verapamil hydrochloride, a calcium channel blocker, and trandolapril, an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor. It is typically prescribed to help control high blood pressure in adults.

This medicine works by combining two mechanisms:
• Verapamil helps relax blood vessels and reduce the workload on the heart by limiting calcium entry into heart and blood vessel cells.
• Trandolapril lowers blood pressure by blocking the production of substances that tighten blood vessels and by promoting the removal of excess salt and water from the body.
Together, these actions help reduce blood pressure.
